How Twitch sub revenue works

Twitch subscriptions come in three tiers: Tier 1 at $4.99, Tier 2 at $9.99, and Tier 3 at $24.99 per month. Most streamers start on a 50/50 revenue split with Twitch, while eligible Partners can qualify for a 70/30 split on their first $100k through the Partner Plus program. The vast majority of subs are Tier 1, so a realistic estimate usually means your total sub count at $4.99.

Prime subs and gifted subs count too

Amazon Prime members can sub free to one channel each month, and streamers earn roughly the same as a Tier 1 sub from it. Gifted subs pay identically to regular subs of the same tier — a community gifting spree lands in your balance the same as organic subs. Both are included in your monthly payout once you cross the $50 threshold.

Growing your sub count

Subs scale with your average concurrent viewers — typical channels convert somewhere between 2-5% of average viewers into subscribers. Raising your live viewer count raises your discovery in category listings, which grows the audience that subs are drawn from. That is the compounding loop behind every big sub count.
